Psyche is a mental health and socio political magazine that aims to engage and provoke discussion. It is a collaborative project with Juliette Fitzgerald Duffy.
When we began Psyche issue 1 we wanted to create a platform within The Glasgow School of Art, and further afield, where people could discuss a broad range of sociopolitical themes. We chose to build the written content by open submission as to allow the first issue to be shaped by the conversations and reflections of our contributors.
The theme of our second issue is Confrontations and we include writing across genres such as poetry, academic essays and experimental material. Through articulating shared and unfamiliar experiences, we aim to address our innate need to tell stories, debate, and reflect.
Alongside the publication itself are our launch events in which contributors and others can perform their written submissions and poems or speak about issues of importance to them. These events are integral to the publication in bringing our readership together and creating a real platform for performance and discussion.
